Sumter Regional Hospital paying lawyers to fight Dr. Keh's lawsuit

Another long-time Americus doctor is fighting alleged discrimination at Sumter Regional Hospital. The hospital, whose two top administrators are making close to a half-million dollar salary while its officials solicit funds from the public in their attempt to rebuild the hospital, have yet to resolve a suit filed by Dr. Mila Keh, a psychiatrist for 33 years.  Full Story............

P&JP hold 12th Annual FREEDOMWALK

We know that freedom is indeed a constant struggle!

So once again--for the 12th consecutive year--the Prison & Jail Project held its week-long FREEDOMWALK, traveling 105 miles on foot through six rural southwest Georgia counties. For seven days--September 9-15--we were present along the roadways, and in front of jailhouses and courthouses to demand that justice come by here.  Full Story............

Elnora (Wright) Kearse, of Hartford, widow of Mathis Kearse, died Saturday, September 29, 2007, at her home. Born in DeSoto, GA, daughter of the late Freeman and Martha (Laramore) Wright, she lived in Hartford 55 years. She was a founding member in 1957 of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Hartford where she had been very active for many years. She had been employed as patient advocate at the Hebrew Home & Hospital, West Hartford for 41 years   Full Story............
