The Observer Mourns the Loss Our Beloved Tonya

Memorial services for the late Ms. Tonya Latosha Argo of Plains, Georgia who passed on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center were held Sat., Jan. 6, 2018 from the Zion Hope Baptist Church. Rev. George F. Monts, Jr. officiated. Ms. Tonya Latosha Argo was born in Sumter County, Georgia on November 4, 1974 to the parents of Ms. Peggy Banks and the late Mr. Richard Argo. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of the Sumter County Comprehensive High School class of 1993. She furthered her education at Georgia Southwestern College and received a Bachelor Degree in Science/Human Resources. She was employed with Sumter Observer newspaper and
Pharma Centra as a Customer Service Representative. She was a member of the Zion Hope Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Mr. Ja’Torian Wendell Argo, Plains, GA; her mother, Ms. Peggy Banks, Plains, GA; brother/cousin, Mr. John Banks, Americus, GA; three sisters/cousin, Mrs. Martha (Keith) Douglas, Augusta, GA, Ms. Rose Banks and Ms. Emily Banks both of Plains, GA; her aunt, Ms. Geneva Banks, Plains, GA; her great aunt, Ms. Ruth Dowdell; her godfather/mentor, Dr. John Marshall, Americus, GA; her god-son, Mr. Demond Banks, Radcliff, KY; a host of cousins, including devoted cousins, Ms. Sonya Solomon and Ms. Jessica Dowdell; her devoted friend, Mr. Bobby Hamilton, Plains,
GA; other relatives and friends also survive.



Brandon and Quina Morgan celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary on March 7.


Coleman Price was recently chosen as the ASHS Teacher of the Month for January 2018.
