We are excited to announce that on Saturday, January 13th, the MLK Dreamers are sponsoring an MLK Unity Celebration to commemorate the life, dream, and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 2018 marks the 50th year for celebrating this national and international leader. The MLK Dreamers are under the leadership of Ms. Nadine Pope.

Nadine envisioned rekindling the MLK parade along with a Unity Rally which will kick off at 12:30 p.m. in Lenny’s Market Downtown Americus. The Unity Rally will encompass live inspirational music, a variety of food vendors, educational vendors, and a featured Game Time Trucking with an array of video games for youth of all ages. Game Time is an African-American owned business based out of Macon, Georgia. Author, Ms. Melinda Merritt will be present to share info on his recent book entitled “Melinda’s Magic.” Fun Facts will be shared about Dr. King and the civil rights journey in Southwest Georgia.
