It does not matter if you are a believing Christian or a nonbelieving Christian, but when we think, read or hear the words "Judgment Day," what comes to mind is a life-ending situation. If not life ending, then your thought process ponders the end to an event or the point at which something ceases. The words connote a never ending list of probabilities no matter how you view them. However, for this segment, we are going to examine "Judgment Day" from a different perspective. Let’s look at it as the beginning and not the end of life thru death, as well as the occurrences and circumstances and the future hopes of a better life.

Judgment represents the ability to make a decision or form an opinion by discerning and evaluating whatever is happening at any given time and place (Webster’s II New College Dictionary pg. 598). Day represents the period of light between dawn and nightfall (Webster’s II New College Dictionary pg. 288). Each day of our lives is a judgment. When you wake up in the morning do you thank God for watching over you and your family members and friends? A judgment is made. If you eat or drink anything for breakfast or snack do you give God thanks? A judgment is made. When you are asked a question or make a statement about anything, will your response be the truth or a lie? A judgment is made. When you knowingly mistreat your brothers and sisters no matter the person’s race or origin, is that right or wrong? A judgment is made. Even when you just think of treating someone wrong, a judgment is made. Why have we as a society made a contract with "Right or Wrong," "Truth or Lie," and "Love" everyone or pick and select whom you love? Each time we make such a deal we lower our moral standards and a judgment is made. We have lowered our moral standards so painfully deep that we send human beings to prison for cruelty to animals and allow innocent babies to die daily. A judgment is made. We have compromised with right, truth, and love so long that we have jeopardized the very state of judgment and the results has put us completely out of line with God’s order of things.

How do we as a nation break this terrible scourge that controls our very essence and destination? Do you really want to wait until your natural death and discover that Jesus is real? You have lived your life as there is no God, and die to find out there is. It would be better for you to live your life as there is a God than die to find out there isn’t. The real truth is that there is no bargaining that is acceptable to God. Our nation is so delusional with what I call "Man" laws. In particular, "everyone is to be treated equally." We have lowered our moral standards so low that we have placed God’s laws second to Man’s laws and that is a multitude of "Judgment Days." We will lie about almost anything and to anyone. We know what belongs to us, but we will take what belongs to others. We walk by each other daily without even waving, much less opening our mouth to speak to each other. Where are God and Jesus Love? A judgment is made.

In Webster’s earlier definition of day, we were told that it is a period which distinguishes light from darkness. Day is that portion of the 24 hour cycle that allows us to see clearly with- out the use of man-made light.

Each day of our lives is filled with so many ups and downs that it dose not make sense to consider tomorrow, which we have no control over anyway. We are truly living day to day. Our nation has used all types of practical delusions to omit from consideration the suffering of its own poor people and recklessly start wars with other countries, shed innocent blood and offer many reasons to justify their actions and proclaim it was the right thing to do. Where is the peace of God in this type of reasoning? What manner of day is this? Our nation is so busy looking everywhere else in the world and never truly stops to see the adversities of its own people. That is a bad day. Our nation is busy justifying its interference in other counties’ abilities to deal with their problems, when we have greater problems here at home that need our government’s immediate attention. We need real health care and not some watered-down stuff that will never help those of us who need it anyway. I hope our leaders don’t believe their own lies and say real health care cost to much money, because I question that money was made to fund the wars and if that’s true then make more money for your own suffering people. That is a bad Day.

Are you sick of these unbelievable sky-rocketing gas prices? When companies’ profits exceeded $33 billion over cost and our leaders don’t step in to help us. I am having a real bad day. Food prices are outrageous - meats, vegetables, milk, etc. It makes you want to leave it but you know most times you can’t, but translate those same items and prices to the farmers who produce the product and they can barely make a profit. Something is not right with this Day. Technologies revolutionize the world and without knowing it made at lot of things that were right in this world wrong. Technology sets out to mass produce everything we were doing and said we can make it faster and it will cost you less to make it, and this will translate into everything costing you less when you go to buy it. Technology, however, did accomplish all its foretold guarantees except the one that would have helped poor people. Things do not cost less, another bad day.

What about our jobs, our American companies sold us out and claim that the American work force is uneducated and lacks motivation so they had no other choice but to out source and move their jobs outside the Country. I find that hard to believe since almost all the other countries piggy-bank on our technology. Jobs we once had that paid $15 plus per hour for the most part have swum away. Our Nation leaders are trying to convince themselves why telling us unemployment numbers are low and thousands of new jobs were created.

Notwithstanding, that maybe true but what our leaders didn’t say was that most of those thousand new jobs pay less than $10 per hour. What we really need to know is how we are going to pay our mortgage, auto loan, utility bill, child care, buy food, and pray a family member or you didn’t get hurt or sick. Another bad day! Our leaders are saying that we are not saving or making investments for our future. We say there is nothing left to save. We are living day-to-day already. I would love to see our nations leaders live a normal life in this day for $ 10 per hour or less as we do and still say with a straight face nothing to worry about, everything is okay. We, the poor people built this Nation through all its technological changes in the last century, but because of greed an nothing else you call us uneducated and not motivated.

We say how can we be motivated living in these conditions. Another bad day! There are so many wrongs, lies, and lack of love for one another that people are painfully blindfolded, not from lack of eyesight but blinded because their hearts have not been circumcised with the blood of Jesus. How will you answer these questions in your "Judgment Day?" Did you love your fellow man and woman? Did you do unto others as you would have them do unto you?
