To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the heavens. ~Ecclesiastes 3:1

“A TIME TO LIVE”

Jason Fleming Burroughs, son of Dr. Fleming Burroughs and Dr. Rosie Reddick Burroughs, was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 29, 1980. In his earlier years, Jason was an avid swimmer with the Blue Tides Swimming Team. Jason attended Ebon Academy in 1996, in which he went to the Summer Olympics with tickets from Dr. Mark Latimore. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts. Under the leadership of Dr. Latimore, Jason built his first bridge. He also attended Space Camp at Cape Carnival, FL. Later, he attended a government leadership conference, which was Jason’s first flight alone and was met by his aunt, Aretha Thomas. He started his musical career early with piano lessons from Ms. Annie Witcher. He later joined the band in middle school and had private lessons from Mr. Leonard Tyson, Mr. Brumfield, and Mr. Kluball. Jason was a member of the Americus High Class of 1998, under Principal Juanita Wilson. While there, he played in the marching, jazz and concert bands. During high school, he learned to play five instruments. Jason played the piano, saxophone, xylophone, guitar, and several percussion instruments. He furthered his education at Berry College in Rome, GA. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in English from Georgia Southwestern State University. With his acting abilities, he played “Ebenezer Scrooge” in A Christmas Carol with the Sumter Players. Jason exhibited his painting with a charity event with the Sumter Regional Hospital Foundation Board. In a silent auction, he used Martin Malik Sabbs’s easel given to him by Mrs. Lorena Sabbs. As a young man, Jason joined the Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, under the directions of Dr. DeRienzia Johnson. Jason also worked in customer service with AT&T and also within pharmaceuticals.
