Local banks turn down NAACP NAACP officials are applauding the support of Citizens Bank, Sumter Bank and Trust and Capitol City Bank and Trust of Albany as the only three banking institutions that contributed to the Annual Freedom Fund Banquet held April 21. However, the NAACP officials are disappointed over the lack of support from several local banks including Peoples South Bank, Wachovia, and First State Bank.
